Mark Zuckerberg’s new goal is to create AGI
People are excited about the idea of creating super-smart AI. OpenAI and Google's AI leader, Demis Hassabis, are trying to achieve this goal. Now, Mark Zuckerberg is also joining in. He doesn't have a specific timeline or definition for this super smart AI, but he wants to build it.
To make this happen, he's making changes at Meta by bringing the AI research group, FAIR, closer to the team working on smart AI products. The idea is to share breakthroughs with Meta's billions of users. Zuckerberg says they need to focus on general intelligence to build the products they want, and he's aware that the best researchers like to work on ambitious problems.
