Sora is Here! Finally

Months after OpenAI introduced its text-to-video AI model, Sora, the company has finally announced its public release. However, this advanced tool is only available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers.

What is Sora?

Sora allows users to create videos by simply providing text descriptions. You can also upload an image and ask Sora to animate it into a video. Additionally, users can edit the generated videos to match their preferences.

Subscription Details

• ChatGPT Plus: Subscribers can create up to 50 videos per month, each lasting 5 seconds, with a maximum resolution of 720p.

• ChatGPT Pro ($200/month): Offers the ability to create:

  • Up to 500 high-speed videos.

  • Unlimited 20-second videos in 1080p at slower speeds.

By default, Sora's videos include watermarks, but Pro users can remove them. However, C2PA metadata will still remain embedded.

Features and Restrictions

The Sora interface lets you view your video history and watch videos made by other users. There are, however, strict rules:

• Videos cannot be generated using the likeness of celebrities, copyrighted symbols, underage individuals, or violent content.

• Misuse of the tool can result in account suspension.

Availability

Sora is not yet available in the European Union or the United Kingdom. However, users in countries like the U.S., UAE, Turkey, South Korea, Qatar, Mexico and Japan have access.
