Stanford’s AI Lab Solves COVID Puzzle
Stanford researchers introduced the Virtual Lab, an AI-powered platform where specialized AI agents work alongside human scientists to solve complex scientific problems, successfully developing nanobodies for new COVID variants.
AI agents with specific expertise (immunology, ML, computational biology) are guided by an AI "Principal Investigator."
These agents collaborate in structured "meetings" to refine their work with minimal human input.
Over 90% of AI-designed molecules were stable, and two promising candidates were found that bind to COVID variants and the original virus.
