UK Government is building an AI tool to predict future murderers, like in “Minority Report” movie

  • The UK Ministry of Justice is developing an AI algorithm to predict who might commit serious crimes, especially murder

  • The project, called the "Murder Prediction Project," uses police data from 100,000 to 500,000 people, including sensitive details like mental health, addiction, and suicide history

  • Civil rights group Statewatch warned that such tools can worsen discrimination in the justice system
