Meta AI is rolling out in Europe after all

Meta is finally launching its AI chatbot in Europe, nearly a year after delaying its rollout due to privacy concerns. Starting this week, Meta AI will be available on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger in 41 European countries and 21 overseas territories—but only with text-based chat for now.

• Meta had to pause its European launch after Ireland’s privacy regulators raised concerns about training on user content.

• The chatbot will not generate or edit images and is not trained on EU user data.

• Meta plans to gradually expand features to match what’s available in the U.S.
