Qualcomm, Google, Intel Join Fight Against Nvidia

Big tech companies like Google, Intel, Qualcomm and Arm are teaming up to take on Nvidia in the AI chip market.

The UXL Foundation wants to make software that lets AI programs work on any type of hardware, not just Nvidia's.

They're asking other chipmakers and big companies like Amazon and Microsoft to join in, so their software works with lots of different hardware.

This project is based on Intel's OneAPI standard, which means developers won't have to stick with Nvidia's software anymore.

Nvidia is big in AI because of its chips and the software that goes with them. But if the UXL project works out, it could break Nvidia's hold and let new companies and ideas into the AI world.
