Claude Now Uses Computers Like Humans!

Anthropic has launched a new feature in its Claude 3.5 Sonnet AI

  • It allows it to use computers much like a person would—navigating with the mouse, typing on the keyboard, and interpreting what's on the screen.

  • This "Computer Use" feature is currently in the beta stage and available only to developers through an API. As it's still being tested, some errors can be expected.

  • Claude has been designed to steer clear of social media and election-related activities, instead focusing on tasks like form-filling and data analysis.

This is a major step forward in making AI more hands-on and capable of performing real-world tasks on computers. It could lead to more advanced automation and efficiency in a wide range of industries.

Real Faces, Animated!

Runway, an AI startup, has unveiled a new feature called "Act-One." It lets users record videos with their camera and, with AI's help, accurately recreate those facial expressions in an animated character.

According to Runway’s website, this tool will gradually roll out starting today, though it still shows as "coming soon" for some. A demo video has been released, showing just how well it replicates facial expressions.

Anyone with a Runway account can try out this feature, but they’ll need enough credits to generate videos using the "Gen-3 Alpha" model, which was introduced earlier this year.

Even though the feature is only available to a limited audience right now, it’s already getting positive reactions on social media. AI video expert Allen.T called it a "game-changer."

Runway's co-founder and CEO, CristĂłbal Valenzuela, told VentureBeat that right now, the feature focuses on facial expressions, but future updates could include body movements too.

AI video generation models, first launched in late 2022, have made big strides in realism, clarity, and responsiveness to user input. However, replicating facial expressions has been a tough challenge.

Runway hopes to tackle this with Act-One, simplifying the complex task of creating realistic animated facial expressions without needing motion capture tools.

This could be a game-changer for animators, game developers, and filmmakers, allowing them to create more lifelike characters in different styles.

Meta's Face ID Returns

Meta is rolling out facial recognition technology again

  • It’s for helping users recover hacked accounts and prevent fraud on Facebook and Instagram.

  • After removing the tools in 2021 due to privacy concerns, Meta is now testing them as a way to speed up account recovery and stop scams that involve impersonating celebrities.

  • Users will be able to unlock their accounts by using selfie videos, similar to how Apple’s Face ID works. Initially, this feature will be available to a small group of users.

This is a big step for Meta as it works to boost security and fight the growing problem of online scams, especially those that use the identities of public figures.

How to Prepare for Interviews using ChatGPT voice mode

  1. Download the ChatGPT app on your phone and log in.

  2. Go to Settings > Personalization > Customize ChatGPT > Enable.

  3. In the textbox below, type how you want ChatGPT to respond. For example, I used the prompt:
"In voice chats, just reply with 'hmm' to everything I say until I finish the sentence with the word 'Done'."

  4. Click the save button.

  5. Tap the mic icon near the textbox to activate voice mode and start speaking.

  6. Use this prompt:

"Hi ChatGPT! Please act as my interviewer. Start with a friendly introduction about yourself and me. Ask open-ended questions about my background, experiences, achievements, challenges, and future goals. Keep the tone conversational and engaging, with follow-up questions to dive deeper. End with a light, personal question and invite me to share any final thoughts or advice. Let’s get started!"

You can also customize the prompt and add specific details about your interview to make it more accurate.
