ChatGPT may soon add watermarks to AI generated images for free users, possibly pushing them toward paid plans. This move is still in testing, but could change how free users experience the platform, and how much trust people have in AI generated content.
Watermarks were found in the app code under “image_gen_watermark_for_free”
Only free-tier users would see these watermarks
It’s unclear if the watermark will be visible or hidden in pixels, like Google's system
Why this matters:
Adding watermarks could widen the gap between free and paid users, and raise concerns about content authenticity and user freedom. If free users feel limited, they may switch to paid, but it also opens debate about transparency and potential misuse of AI-made content.

How to Create UGC Style Videos with AI
Open ChatGPT and choose the ‘GPT-4o’ model.
Ask it to create AI UGC-style photos for your brand.
Example prompt:
“Create an image of a woman wearing a black shimmery dress, standing in front of a foggy vintage mirror, holding Mac lipstick in the shade ‘Ruby Woo’. Soft lighting, cozy vibes, natural glow, full glam.”Once the image is ready, head to Kling AI and sign up.
Choose the Image to Video option and upload your generated images.
Let it process — you’ll get a UGC-style video.
Download it and use it in your campaigns with your own AI-generated model.
